A double-blind forum and survey platform built for chief financial officers at private equity, credit, real estate, and infrastructure firms. Post a question, launch a benchmark survey, and see how your shop compares. Anonymity here isn't a policy line in the terms of service — it's hardwired into the site, enforced by how posts, responses, and breakouts are built.
Every member is a vetted CFO at a private capital firm, verified by work email and reviewed by hand. Posts and responses show only contextual tags — asset class, AUM band, region — never your name or your firm.
Anyone can publish a survey. Multiple choice or open text, with optional written commentary. You only see the results once you've contributed your own — the data is built by the people who use it.
Aggregated results can be sliced by asset class, AUM band, or region — but only when a segment has at least three respondents. Below the floor, results roll up. Anonymity is structural, not just promised.
"How many days after quarter-end do you publish capital account statements?"
"What do you pay your fund controller, and how is comp split with carry?"
"Are you in-house, outsourced, or hybrid on fund admin — and would you switch?"
"What's your audit fee, normalized per fund, and who's your auditor?"
"How do you handle valuations for Level 3 assets between formal quarters?"
"Do you use a subscription line, and what's your current pricing grid?"
Participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker, nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.
The Chatham House Rule, London - 1927
AltsCFO is built to enforce that rule by design rather than by trust.
Take what you learn here back to your firm, your board, your auditor. Do not name the member who said it, the firm they work for, or any detail that could identify either.
Posts and survey responses carry only contextual tags — asset class, AUM band, region. Your name and firm are never attached. Authorship is recorded but sealed: stored against an opaque token in a locked table that no admin can read in the normal course of moderation. You have a short window — minutes, not hours — to edit a post; after that the post lives on, but the link back to you is invisible to every member and every admin. Breakouts only render at three or more respondents.
Every member is a vetted CFO or senior finance lead at an alternative-asset firm, confirmed by work email and reviewed by hand. The rule only works if the room is the right room.
The value of this forum rests on truthful, thoughtful answers. Members are expected to respond honestly, share their genuine experience, and avoid speculation or posturing. The anonymity shield makes that possible: when your name and firm are not attached, you can speak plainly about what actually happens inside your shop — not the polished version. Without integrity at the input, the output loses its meaning for the entire community.
Screenshotting attributable content, deanonymizing a member, or attempting to identify a respondent are grounds for immediate removal. Removed posts count against the author — three admin removals inside ninety days trigger automatic suspension. The forum survives because the rule is taken seriously, and the system enforces it without anyone needing to know who you are.
